Description
This cup is an original hand-painted work by Master Yang Shuhua, created in the summer of 2026 (the year of Bingwu). The body of the cup is hand-painted with blue-and-white designs, featuring a spacious composition with distant mountains like dark clouds, vast rivers, and pine forests with thatched cottages nestled among them. The cup is inscribed with ‘Painted by Yang Shuhua in Jingdezhen, Summer of the Year of Bingshen,’ and comes with the master’s red seal.
The cup measures 7 cm in height, 5 cm in diameter at the mouth, and 3 cm at the base. Its tall shape (height greater than width) helps to concentrate the aroma in tea ceremonies and gives a comfortable grip. A ‘host cup’ is a tea vessel used by tea lovers, reflecting personal taste and style. This cup is suitable for daily tea drinking and also holds high collectible value as a refined desk piece. Master Yang Shuhua’s works are collected by institutions such as Zhongnanhai Ziguang Pavilion, the China Arts and Crafts Museum, and the Great Hall of the People. His blue-and-white landscape pieces are seen in the industry as a milestone in modern Jingdezhen ceramics.
