Viewing Snow by the Clear Stream” Blue-and-White Snow Landscape Plate

Description

This plate is an original hand-painted work by Master Yang Shuhua, created in the autumn of the Yisi Year (2025). The surface is decorated with a landscape using the traditional “blue-and-white dividing water” technique. The composition is spacious and grand: rolling snow-capped mountains, desolate winter forests, standing bare trees, and a winding stream. The combination of negative space and cobalt blue rendering perfectly captures the vast and poetic ambiance of “Viewing Snow by the Clear Stream.” The reverse side is inscribed with “Viewing Snow by the Clear Stream” and “Painted by Yang Shuhua in Jingdezhen, Autumn of Yisi Year”, accompanied by two of the artist’s red seals.

Measuring 3cm high and 30cm in max diameter. This large-scale plate has a magnificent presence, ideal for display on a curio cabinet, a scholar‘s desk, or as a wall-mounted decorative piece. Snow landscape is one of Master Yang’s most iconic signature themes. His blue-and-white snow landscapes are regarded as a milestone in modern Jingdezhen ceramics. His works are held in Zhongnanhai‘s Ziguangge Pavilion, the Chinese National Museum of Arts and Crafts, and the Great Hall of the People.
