A large-scale giant porcelain mural from Jingdezhen enters the Great Hall of the People

On April 7, the handover ceremony of a large-scale porcelain panel painting from Jingdezhen to the Great Hall of the People was held at the administration bureau of the Great Hall of the People. Hu Xuemei, deputy secretary of the municipal party committee and mayor, Dai Jiye, director of the administration bureau of the Great Hall of the People, deputy director Yang Chenglong, and Jiang Hua, secretary-general of the municipal government, attended. After the ceremony, the Jingdezhen Municipal Government held a discussion with the administration bureau of the Great Hall of the People, where both sides had an in-depth exchange on continuing to strengthen communication and cooperation, and highlighting the outstanding traditional Chinese culture.
Hu Xuemei first introduced the creation process, theme, and features of the large-scale giant ceramic panel painting ‘Scenic China.’ ‘Scenic China’ is currently the world’s largest single ceramic masterpiece, measuring 10.71 meters long and 4.5 meters high. Its production technique combines underglaze high-temperature colored glazes with overglaze green and blue pastels, expressed through China’s unique ink landscape painting skills. Its grand scale, exquisite craftsmanship, and challenging firing process represent the highest level of contemporary ceramic craftsmanship and painting, setting a new record for Chinese ceramic production. At the discussion, Hu Xuemei expressed her sincere thanks to the Great Hall of the People Administration Bureau for actively coordinating various parties and carefully organizing personnel to support the installation of the Jingdezhen ceramic panel painting in the Hall. Moving forward, Jingdezhen City will further deepen communication and exchange with the Administration Bureau, introducing more excellent ceramic products through innovative design, helping Jingdezhen ceramics to better ‘go out, go up, and go in,’ and showcasing the power of China’s outstanding traditional culture to the world.
Dai Jiye expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Jingdezhen Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government for their continuous care and support of the People’s Great Hall Administration. The successful installation of the artwork ‘Scenic Rivers and Mountains Map’ at the People’s Great Hall is the result of the Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government attaching great importance, the proactive implementation by the Jingdezhen Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, and the meticulous preparation by the creative team. It provides a significant cultural brand for the People’s Great Hall’s external exchanges and highlights the national confidence in the inheritance and innovation of Jingdezhen’s ceramic culture. As pandemic policies adjust, China’s foreign affairs activities are in full swing, making the display of our country’s diplomatic image particularly important. The way ceramic culture showcases China’s excellent traditional culture leaves a deep, refreshing impression. Moving forward, the People’s Great Hall will work closely with Jingdezhen to jointly promote the construction of a national ceramic culture inheritance and innovation pilot zone.
